Testimonials
Katrina Sophia
Katrina Sophia paints beautiful illustrations and designs vibrant homeware and gifts inspired by plants. BSL is Katrina’s first language, so we edit her content to make sure it sounds and flows naturally and authentically. She sometimes uses AI to generate content, so we adapt those into her brand tone of voice.
“Tim is a wonderful copywriter to work with – my blog posts and newsletter are much more personal and engaging as a result. I am pleased with all the changes he made with my copy. He’s quick to respond to my emails and proofread my work, which I am grateful for!”
– Katrina Sophia, Illustrator and Designer
Marketing Partnership
We work with Penny, Amy and Gemma at Marketing Partnership to write and edit website and email content for their higher education clients, from Birmingham Newman to the University of South Wales.
“Tim is a great copywriter. He is particularly skilled at working with academic colleagues to identify the distinctive features of their programmes. Tim is tactful, reliable and hardworking and I would recommend his services.”
– Penny Eccles, Executive-level HE Strategic Marketing/Student Recruitment Consultant
Ashiana
We helped Anastasia and her team to reimagine the Ashiana jewellery product pages, creating a consistent format that emphasises the metals, gemstones and artisan techniques. We helped them tell the stories behind each collection and logged into the website to amend hundreds of existing product descriptions.
“Tim and Luke are a joy to work with. They went above and beyond in understanding our specific brief. Pleasant and speedy in response time. Always helpful and attentive. I would recommend them for your project needs.”
– Anastasia Buisman, Founder
Beyond Move
Noemi asked us to create new content to promote and introduce people to Peto Pilates at her Beyond Move studio, a carefully curated programme for people who live with movement difficulties and neurological conditions. We recommended incorporating client quotes to explain some of the details in their own words – helping people to relate to a programme they might not have heard of previously.
“Hiring Content for Humans to edit the website has been great. It sounds so lovely and our mission statement is so much better. Your work is really valuable.”
– Noemi Nagy-Bhavsar, Founder
Train Together
We adapted the existing course descriptions and apprenticeship brochures into new Train Together webpages – condensed and edited into bitesize information in a natural tone of voice.
“Tim came highly recommended for an education writing project. Over a short period, Tim took over 60 course titles and information in various formats to revise each description into a consistent layout that would appeal to potential learners. He looked to deal with a complex project with ease – Tim was easy to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to partner with him, and Content for Humans, again.”
– Luan Wise, Marketing Consultant
Sheffield Hallam University
We’ve edited online course descriptions for Sheffield Hallam University for a few years now – keeping in mind their tone of voice, language style, page structure and word counts. We’ve also created user guides, content for apprentices, and we’re on hand to proofread prospectuses and student publications.
“Thanks for all your help with this project and your patience and flexibility as always. You’ve helped us improve a lot of copy for our courses which really makes a difference.”
– Ella Bowers, Senior Marketing and Communications Officer
APPI Clinics
For the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute’s team of movement practitioners, we created a people-friendly tone-of-voice guide. We then copy edited their new website into a human tone that explains each service simply. We then continued to edit blogs, emails, guides, inspirational clinic signage and new services.
“Your attention to detail is awesome! The website copy is sounding great (professional yet easy and friendly) and importantly consistent throughout now. The tone-of-voice guidelines are really clear too, and easy to follow. I can see already how useful this is going to be for all of us moving forwards.”
– Elisa Withers, Co-Founder, Physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor
University of Gloucestershire
We helped the University of Gloucestershire with an in-depth tone-of-voice guide, writing toolkit and language style A-Z. Plus their award-winning mission to be the most sustainable university – they were the first to switch from printed to digital prospectuses.
“I’ve worked with Tim from Content for Humans multiple times and have always been blown away by his enthusiasm, insight, and commitment to delivering quality, every time. Tim is a brand and tone of voice expert who really gets under the skin of your organisation’s voice and style, whether he’s proofreading and editing, copywriting, or helping to develop your brand. His attention to even the smallest nuances of your messaging and personality is what sets him apart.”
– Cara Jelfs, Content and Campaign Manager
Aligned Design Co.
We frequently collaborate with Nancy’s creative studio Aligned Design Co. We help with wording and tone-of-voice guides for startups and rebrands. Often for clients in health, beauty and education – including Mama Bee Soaps, Pacaiba, Ajani Daily and Mansfield College.
“Tim has an incisive way of getting to the heart of a brand and translating it into the perfect tone of voice. I’ve been so impressed by his work with our clients, creating simple to follow, concise and considered tone-of-voice guides across different products and industries. He’s a joy to work with.”
– Nancy Poller, Creative Director
The People’s Partnership
We translated financial information into human-friendly language for the hugely popular and customer-friendly workplace pension, The People’s Pension. Projects included creating an enormous jargon buster (pensions has a LOT of baffling terminology), marketing campaigns and how-to guides.
“Working with Tim is always a great process. He brings creativity, common sense and collaboration to every project. Helping users to understand the complex is essential to UX and Tim’s grasp of simplifying the unwieldy and producing microcopy that works has been invaluable.”
– James Durrant, Senior Digital Experience Manager
Optimum Student Support
Experts in mental health and neurodiversity, we edited brochure content for Optimum and adapted their tone of voice into a more conversational one.
“You did an excellent job of editing our brochure and meeting our brand content style. We were pleased with the quality and speed at which writing was produced.”
– Sanja Quayle, Clinical Director
UCAS
We’ve helped UCAS for many years, both in-house, on retainer and ad-hoc. Projects vary from website restructures and migration to building location guides and writing student life blogs. Also commercial copywriting, equality wording, apprenticeship articles and creating how-to information for applicants, parents, advisers and university staff.
“Tim has had a couple of stints at UCAS as a web content editor. At both times we were heading into a major relaunch of the site design, structure and content. On each occasion Tim stepped up methodically and professionally, with excellent technical knowledge about the CMS used and always with good humour. He quickly grasped the necessary understanding of UCAS’ broad range of services and the complex processes associated with them, he understood the brand tone of voice and became the go-to guy for all things web content.”
– Graham Bond, Web Services Lead
